Support for scientific research

On March 21, the Umberto Veronesi Foundation’s annual research grants were awarded to 188 researchers pursuing cutting-edge research projects in oncology, cardiovascular diseases and neuroscience. The ceremony was held at the UniCredit Pavilion in Milan in the presence of top state and research officials.
Among them was researcher Tiziana Bachetti (born in Genoa in 1973, with a degree and PHD from the University of Genoa), who won a research grant for the year 2018 and is studying mutations in the Phox2B gene, a genetic mutation that causes a tumor called neuroblastoma.
Dr. Bachetti’s research is carried out at the G. Gaslini in Genoa and is funded by the Imperia-based oil company Raineri S.p.A. as part of Fondazione Umberto Veronesi’s Gold For Kids project, dedicated to pediatric oncology.
Raineri together with the Umberto Veronesi Foundation became a spokesperson not only for its commitment to support scientific research, but also for the importance of healthy and proper nutrition as a tool for prevention. Present at the event for Raineri were Chiara Rinaldi, a member of the Board of Directors, and Cristina Santagata, a Raineri partner and president of the company of the same name.
