Women at the helm of oliveoil businesses

Not many women in the olive-oil sector have reached the top of the corporate tree. Some have, however, including Cristina Santagata, CEO at Santagata 1907 SpA and at Raineri SpA. Then there’s Chiara Coricelli, CEO at Coricelli SpA. How come women have arrived so late on the scene and are only now filling spaces that are rightly theirs? And how come, still today, at various producer companies, especially the larger ones with a multi-layered corporate structure, there are still so few women being called upon to play such decisive roles?
